The North Platte Area Chamber of Commerce & Development Corporation is a private, non-profit organization of business professionals who are dedicated to improving the economic and civic environment of the North Platte area while fostering the growth and prosperity of business.

This organization was formed on April 1, 2008, when the North Platte Area Chamber of Commerce and the Development Corporation of North Platte (DEVCO) merged together. The Chamber and DEVCO were two successful organizations working  to improve and develop our community. After much thought, both Boards of Directors determined that these organizations would make extraodinary accomplishments working together as one entity.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions. Our members range from mom-and-pop shops and local chambers to leading industry associations and large corporations. They all share one thing—they count on the Chamber to be their voice in Washington, D.C.

The North Platte Homebuilders Association is the primary trade association providing resources and networking contacts to individuals and entities involved in the residential housing market within North Platte, NE, and the surrounding area. The association offers leadership and education in all aspects of the residential housing industry, from construction issues to financing and quality of life concerns for the residents of the North Platte area.

The Nebraska State Home Builders Association (NSHBA) is a non-profit trade association comprised of five local associations. NSHBA actively works to address issues that are critical to the survival and success of the home building industry.

The NSHBA was organized in 1965 to be a unified voice to preserve, protect and promote the housing industry at the state level. The following mission statement and goals serve to focus association activities. Today the Nebraska housing industry involves remodelers, new home builders, material suppliers, subcontractors and specialty trade contractors, employing over 14,000 people and generating over $72 million dollars in revenue for state and local governments.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) helps its members build communities. Each year, NAHB’s members construct about 80% of the new homes built in the United States, both single-family and multifamily.

A federation of more than 700 state and local associations, NAHB represents more than 140,000 members. About one-third are home builders and remodelers. The rest work in closely related specialties such as sales and marketing, housing finance, and manufacturing and supplying building materials.

Nebraska Building Chapter of Associated General Contractors (AGC) is the premier professional organization for builders in this state.

The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) is the leading association for the construction industry. AGC represents more than 26,000 firms, including over 6,500 of America’s leading general contractors, and over 9,000 specialty-contracting firms. More than 10,500 service providers and suppliers are also associated with AGC, all through a nationwide network of chapters.
